Pengaruh Modernisasi Terhadap Perubahan Praktik Ibadah di Gereja Kristen Protestan Indonesia Resort Patane
Abstract
This article examines the influence that modernization has had on changes in worship practices at GKPI Resort Patane. In essence, worship is an encounter between God and the congregation, which ultimately gives birth to a mission. Modernization and globalization have brought a shift in the way people view and approach religious life. Despite this, many communities seek to maintain the authenticity and significance of their worship, while responding to changes in society, in the development of spirituality and religion, worship and rites provide a rich and meaningful framework. Modernization has had a significant impact on worship practices at GKPI Resort Patane. These changes include the use of modern technology such as music boxes, infocus, and accounts in the worship process. The essence of Christian worship involves a personal relationship with God, the expression of love, and recognition of His greatness. The goal is to strengthen faith, draw closer to God, and reflect love and obedience to others. Christian worship includes prayer, Bible reading, praise, and participation in sacraments such as Holy Communion as a form of reverence and recognition of God's love and presence. Modernization refers to the process of social, economic, political and cultural transformation which involves changes towards conditions that are considered more advanced, efficient and in line with current developments. In a general context, modernization includes the application of technology, economic development, lifestyle changes, and institutional renewal. Worship practices include a series of religious or spiritual activities carried out by individuals or communities as a form of worship or obedience to certain religious beliefs.
